You did not have to go to Jamaica or the Bahamas this month to get the taste of the Caribbean – all you needed to do was to attend Kissimmee Lakefront Park on Sunday 24th April, 2016 where the annual Caribbean Fusion was held. It was a full day of music, food and relaxation with a decided islands flavor. If you were not present, you missed a great event, under sunny skies resulting in a perfect day to be out with the entire family.
Some of the main highlights of the day were the steelpan, tasa drummers, folk dancers, reggae, and calypso. Several vendors served Caribbean dishes and treats from different islands. Not to be left out from among all those spicy dishes and entertainment, was the popular beer garden. The event also featured lots of activities for children and interesting craft displays. Most people brought their lawn chairs, coolers and blankets and those who arrived early got the best "seats" in the park; under the big, shady trees. As always, admission to this refreshing Caribbean Fusion is free, free, free. Free parking was also available at area public parking lots and on the streets. A day to remember. Don't miss it next year.
